Hello my name is Matt, and I am a first year graduate student at Cornell in applied mathematics. For more information about my academic life visit
my home page. I like to run, and eat good food. As I try more restaurants I will attempt to rank them as I have for
other towns. You can find my current rankings for Ithaca Restaurants at Users/MattHh/Restaurant Rankings. I am excited that Ithaca has a wiki, but it needs a bunch more content. This is why I am currently working on Ithaca Wiki publicity.

2008-08-21 18:00:32 Welcome to the wiki, it's nice to see somebody that believes in the power of wiki as much as myself. Keep up the good work! —TravisO
2008-09-02 19:04:55 I've allowed users who are logged in access to delete pages. —TravisO
2008-09-29 18:50:49 To do a redirect, change the old page's content to: #redirect Viva Taqueria & Cantina
after that first space, enter the page's name, no brackets. Feel free to email me so we can discuss things quicker, (travis)m(owens)@(gmail).(com) , remove the parathesis to fix —TravisO
2008-11-12 00:10:18 In hindsight, I shouldn't have edited your page. The IthaWiki is just way too young to try to heavy hand it, edit at your leisure :) —TravisO
2009-03-07 19:15:51 Thanks for the Welcome message, hope I can be of service, will try to import in some useful stuff from RocWiki and BufWiki PLUS learn a little about the Ithaca community. —BradMandell
2009-03-12 08:58:11 I made two trial pages using the multicolumn form of Include on Restaurants/Talk and then did another one without the left, right but using columns on the Restaurants/Talk2. I was not successful trying to use the TOC, I am not a big fan of the TOC because the Header1's are too big and if you don't use them, then the TOC indents a lot. —BradMandell
2009-03-12 23:12:39 You can just keep the two in a row and add another column with one include in it.
2009-03-17 15:26:35 After giving it much thought after the various Davis Wiki discussions, I'd say that "authentic" isn't so much controversial as it is simply poorly defined among strangers: it means something radically different to different people. Even if you agree on the definition, add it to a location, period, ethnic group or genre ("authentic TexMex", "authentic medieval", "authentic punk"), and you again mean something different to different people. It simply does not mean something useful to a wide group of readers. For a wide variety of readers and editors, it is simply a useless description for food or for pretty much anything else. Unless, of course, you're using it in the literal meaning, a la "the signature on this letter is authentic". —JabberWokky
2009-03-17 16:51:20 The nice thing about a new wiki is that you can clutter the RC all you want. :) —JabberWokky
2009-03-18 21:12:04 You probably wanted to upload that to "wiki settings". If you are a wiki admin here, check out the link below your editor name in the upper left corner. —JabberWokky
2009-05-06 15:49:22 Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. What I did was go into the "General" wiki settings and in the "Footer button 3" field, and entered the code below which you can just copy and paste from the sitemeter website after you create an account. I also specifically chose the most discreet sitemeter icon. Hope this helps. =)

2009-08-29 20:21:30 Hi Matt, have been really digging in on BufWiki - got it up over 600 pages last week. Sorry I have not taken much time to help you out here. Lots of wikis in the doldrums it seems. I liked your Promo Graphic - You might want to check out my
BufWiki Promotion Page . I also started a new push with
Flickr Sharing that might generate some heat. See
BuffaloBobWiki, my external pseudonym and test user. He has Flickr, Twitter, etc accounts and I am using him to do direct promos. Hope you are having a good summer. —BradMandell
2009-09-03 10:43:12 Looks to me like it's just catching the bottom ones. I don't think the headers affect the bullet list, so I don't think that's the problem. I can dig into the code and check, however. Nobody's noticed a similar problem elsewhere... but there is a subtle class of bugs that pops up now and then where an odd character (strange unicode or control character somebody somehow pasted in) resets the parser. Those are my first blush thoughts — it could be something much more simple or even just odd random luck and next week it will randomly pick almost all Asian cuisine. —JabberWokky
2009-09-03 10:45:22 (Incidentally, I've gotten Dijon in the picker, which is also under a second level header, so I don't think it has anything to do with the headers). —JabberWokky
2009-09-04 11:37:49 Just as a heads up, the earliest I'm likely to take a look at it is Sunday, or possibly even late next week. I've had a crunch of work. Philip or Brent might have a chance to check it out before me. Or, if you know python at all, the wiki for the source code is
Sycamore. —JabberWokky
